Armina Jafari

Armina Jafari is an Iranian musician, drummer, and artist known for breaking barriers and advancing women’s presence in Iranian music. Born in 1985, she holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and began her musical journey in 2000, becoming a pioneer in Iran’s evolving music scene.

She made history as Iran’s first female drummer after the 1979 Revolution, performing for six years with the Orkideh group led by Orkideh Hajivandi. She played at major venues including Tehran’s Vahdat Hall and participated in Fajr Festivals in Tehran and Kerman, helping redefine women’s roles in Iranian music.

Since 2003, Armina has collaborated with singer Simin Ghanem, performing regularly at Vahdat Hall and in cities including Shiraz and Kish. She also performed with Bahareh Mansouri’s pop band, further demonstrating her range as a live musician.

In 2025, Armina joined the Los Angeles-based metal, heavy-metal, gothic-metal, and extreme-metal projects DevaWratH®, AtarWratH®, and Hallucinations BLUE®. Working alongside Joubin Mahmoudi (Joobin Mahmoodi), Rebecca Z.AIA (iMAX Arc®), Bita Sadeghy, Sasan SeyedKalal, Giampiero T., Tom H, Ali Khosroshahi, Babak Katouzi, Ramo Yekani (Philterium), Vargha Zamani (AriyamaN®), Çağrı Bahadır, and Vesal Naeimi, she expanded her recording work into a bold international catalog.

Her selected credits include The Evil Comes, The Mask I Wear, LOCRIAN THE INFERNO, 1000s Miles Away, Die, and Lost in Wrath.
